    The Challenge

Founded in 1871, Newcastle University is a Russell Group university in the UK offering higher education courses to over 28,000 students. With a particular focus on areas including cities, culture and creative arts, data, and the planet, Newcastle University prides itself on advancing human knowledge through creative solutions to global problems.

Sophie Collins, an MArch Masters student, needed a way to combine multiple data types to visualize her innovative thesis and animate the dataset to create a highly engaging presentation.

    The Solution

Sophie implemented Veesus Arena4D point cloud editing and animation software, which provided:

    Multi-Format Data Integration

Combine point clouds, photogrammetry, images, and audio into a single cohesive project.

    Advanced Animation Features

Create engaging animations including cutaways revealing interior building structures.

    Interactive Archive Presentation

Superimpose plans on point cloud data with additional audio and visual clips for immersive experiences.

    The Results

"I'm glad I chose Arena4D to bring my thesis to life. Often in architecture the outputs require further explanation – but Arena4D changes that."

    — Sophie Collins, MArch Masters Student 2017-2022, Newcastle University
